What is the difference between exporting and extracting?
Though these terms sound roughly the same, in our opinion they are very different. Exporting data is a basic function of Axys, APX and other programs that users can manually accomplish, or automate through the use of scripts. Exporting files typically produces raw, unprocessed data files. In contrast, extracting data may include some standard raw data file exports, but it also includes preprocessed information such as select time period performance, volatility, holdings, etc.
